Born in Zimbabwe, Clive Rundle grew up in South Africa where he studied fashion design in Johannesburg. Clive Rundle goes by as a constructionist rather than a fashion designer, with an intricate structure being the essence of his design. The inherent structuring of his patterns can lead the translation in any direction – frugal, avant-garde, classical, elaborate and contemporary. Clive Rundle's unique designs have been launched by the media and fashion cognoscenti since his first store was opened in 1989.
After a three month intensive mentorship in Antwerp in 2013, Belgium, under Anne Chapelle and her company BVBA32, which is home to designers Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann, Clive Rundle introduced his first ready to wear collection under the label Clive by Clive Rundle in October 2014 at SA Fashion Week, enabling fashion lovers to own their very own designer pieces. Each garment embodies the luxury, detail and quality that Clive Rundle is renowned for. The inherent structuring of his patterns can personify the classical, elaborate and contemporary – creating extraordinary pieces that will be worn timelessly. The label is currently available in a total of 13 stores nationally and internationally.
